Summer Jimin Park
b. 1995 | lives, studies, and writes in New York City
I’m a writer, art enthusiast, and aspiring art historian, and a recent graduate of the Modern and Contemporary Art: Critical and Curatorial Studies program at Columbia University. As the 2025-26 MODA Curates Fellow, I curated Skins, Not Our Own at the Wallach Art Gallery in Spring 2026, featuring works by Heidi Bucher, Rebecca Horn, and Kimsooja.
I am interested in and passionate about encouraging others to discover the world through the unique vision of each artist: how they depict a certain motif, event, or person; how they give voice to unheard communities and illuminate forgotten histories; how they confess and heal personal traumas and insecurities; and how they address the paradoxes inherent in society at large.
My writing has appeared in publications including W Korea and Marie Claire Korea. Prior to graduate school, I worked as Associate Director of Public Relations at Kukje Gallery in Seoul from 2020 to 2024.

저는 세계 각지를 부지런히 돌아다니는 관람객이자, 제가 보고 느낀 것을 대중에게 공유하는 인터넷 유저, 그리고 항상 무언가를 배우고 있는 미술사학도입니다.
2022년, 미술과 대중을 연결하는 일에 재미를 느껴 전시 소식을 공유하는 인스타그램 계정 @crakti를 취미로 운영하기 시작했습니다. 저는 시대와 사조를 불문하고 각 미술가가 바라본 세상을 대중이 더 자세히 들여다보게끔 독려하는데 관심과 열정이 있습니다. 이엔 각 미술가가 특정 주제나 사건을 묘사하고, 소외된 공동체의 목소리와 잊힌 역사를 조명하며, 개인적인 트라우마와 불안을 고백하고, 사회 전반에 내재한 모순을 드러내는 방식이 모두 해당됩니다.
지난 2020년부터 2024년까지는 국제갤러리 홍보팀의 어소시에이트 디렉터로 재직했으며, 2026년 5월 뉴욕 컬럼비아 대학교에서 Modern and Contemporary Art: Critical and Curatorial Studies (근현대 미술: 비평 및 큐레토리얼 연구) 석사 과정을 졸업했습니다.
